About our Mother House
There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don’t look even slightly believable.
If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn’t anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text.
Stay at Nether Springs
Our accommodation at Nether Springs consists of converted stone farm buildings, four-sides around a courtyard, not unlike a traditional medieval monastery cloister. The rooms are spacious, light, warm, and comfortable. The reference library, specialising in Celtic and Desert monasticism, Spiritual Formation, Gospel and Culture, and Missional Communities/New Monasticism, is available to all guests, as are the ‘garden rooms’ and the Poustinia in the walled garden.
We have eight en-suite bedrooms for single occupancy or for two people sharing. One of our en-suite rooms is offered as a family room (or small dorm room) and another is wheelchair accessible.
We have space to accommodate up to eighteen guests.
Serve on our Team
Nether Springs is also the home of a small resident expression of the Community, who in the context of seeking God themselves, help keep the home running smoothly and facilitate retreats for guests. We look forward to being with you during your visit.

Here’s a map showing the location of Nether Springs at Acton Home Farm, the Mother House of the Northumbria Community, which you can use to plan your route.
Use the Zoom control to help you find your way. You can also use the ‘Satellite’ view to see an aerial photograph – some of the very small lanes giving access to Nether Springs do not appear on the Google map.
